The Society

Established in 2004, PAHAL has assisted nearly 25,000 young people.

Participatory Action for Human Advancement & Learning is a registered society constituted to work alongside children, young people and communities in the advancement of education, health, livelihood and dignity.

Its programmes extend across six focus areas — education, health and wellbeing, science and technology, shelter and basic needs, skills and livelihoods, and community development — concentrated in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

The Society follows a participatory method. Programmes are designed in consultation with the communities they serve, and their success is assessed by the capacity those communities retain once a programme concludes.

Our work

The programmes below are not administered in isolation. Each is directed towards one objective: that a young person completes their education and enters adult life with greater opportunity than they began with.

01

Education

Enrolment, retention and the removal of barriers to schooling.

02

Health & Wellbeing

Access to health services, preventive awareness and community wellbeing.

03

STEM & Innovation

Science and technology education, research exposure and academic conferences.

Impact

Reach, outcomes and the basis on which they rest.
